Nicola Vassell
Nicola Vassell is an art dealer and curator who is Principal of Concept NV, an art consultancy and curatorial agency specialized in fine art and cultural phenomena. She was Curatorial Director of The Dean Collection and No Commission, a contemporary family art collection and cultural platform developed by Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. Vassell has organized several exhibitions including: Dreamweavers, Edge of Chaos, Black Eye, Substraction and No Commission: London, Berlin, Bronx, Shanghai and Miami. She is an editor of books, whose pastpublications include, Jean-Michel Basquiat 1981: The Studio of the Street;Francesco Clemente: Works 1971-1979 and Kehinde Wiley: Black Light. Vassell was formerly Director at Deitch Projects and Pace Gallery, NY and is a visiting lecturer at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She will open an eponymously named art gallery in New York City in 2021.
